At the beginning, I liked the design class, but I was unfamiliar with it. However, I really fell in love with design after a few classes. During class, we followed the teacher’s instructions. In a short time, we got inspiration from our artist’s artwork, my artist. My artist is post-impressionism, so the brush strokes are bold, do not very clear outline, and focus on the source of light. At first, I liked the artist because of his brushstrokes and color, but I heard the teacher say that we want to get Inspiration from these works. I hesitated how to paint because I used this method to design the garment for the first time, and I think my artist’s artwork doesn’t have a lot of shapes, so it’s difficult for me to paint. I thought about it for a long time before painting. When I was in class, I was very dissatisfied with the works I drew. Then when I finished class, I asked the teacher how I can improve. The teacher told me that he thought my things were painted in textile, but the teacher said he hoped that we painted them into form, and show me some examples of students. After looking at the examples of students, I fully understand what kind of design the teacher wants us to do. When I was doing homework at home, I started with collages that I was more familiar with. However, I was not very smooth at the beginning, but I kept trying and asked a senior sister how to collage, she told me to cut the paper should be small, and then I can’t imagine that I’m making a piece of garment. Later, I get the idea of what she said, and the speed became faster. When I was about to start painting, I went to see a lot of different styles of cloth and learn how other people draw model proportions. From these drawing videos, I learned a lot of painting skills. In these processes, I really learned a lot in this session, which made me no longer unfamiliar with design. I also like design more and more. I also understand that the ancients said practice makes perfect.
